HI, I'M PAOLA!

I am the creative mind behind Painted Hawk Designs. My journey into surface pattern design has been anything but ordinary. I am a prior military officer turned official bread baker and pancake flipper for my family of 6. As an artist, crafter and sewist I wanted unique designs for my kids clothing and accessories and that is what sparked my desire to want to see my designs on all sorts of surfaces. I have taken many courses since then, including Bonnie Christine's Immersion Course, to help me learn the art of surface pattern design and officially opened doors in 2023.

Life around here is always busy, a bit chaotic, and endlessly inspiring. Through it all, my Catholic faith keeps me grounded and helps guide my creative journey. I find beauty in the unexpected and love blending bold, nature-inspired elements into my work. Whether it's the wild patterns of cockatoos made of flower petals, racoons taking off into outer space with a cardboard rocket or the vibrant colors of blooming flowers, I'm drawn to designs that feel unique and alive.

When I am not designing, you can find me juggling family life, building magnet tile castles, and finding creative sparks in everyday moments. My family is my inspiration and joy. My goal is to create patterns that make you feel something- happiness, adventure, or a sense of connection to your childhood imagination. Thanks for being here and sharing in this journey with me.
